The teeth are definitely moving. I can see space between the front lower teeth and better alignment everywhere. The mini brush goes in under the wires between the teeth much easier. I still haven't mastered - dared - flossing, but I booked a cleaning appointment for next week ;). I also have my second ortho appointment that same morning. This time the wires are going on all teeth, now that the extra teeth are gone and the space is filling in well with the rest.

The hooks in the back stopped bothering me, but the front pins are still dangerously sharp; I'm making good use of the protective wax :)

chaabiyatFood intake is better and I think I mastered the art of using fork & knife instead of biting directly into big pieces. The funniest episode was New Year's. We had chaabiyat for dessert (see picture, these yummies are not bite size); everyone was biting into their chaabiyat while Ms Coco here was cutting hers with a knife and eating with the fork metel elli Alla 3atiyoun lol Well anyways, it was worth every bite ;)

All in all, this experience was hell for the first couple of months but I'm definitely getting better at it, and I'm looking forward to next week's appointment.

Akid to be continued....

Sheyfeh? I couldn't believe it myself until I put the pictures side by side (hourray for taknologya lol). This fast improvement makes the pain and discomfort all worth it. Hopefully it keeps progressing in this speed and I won't have to suffer for longer than 24 months :) We'll see what the Dr will say next Tuesday.

Well coco that's my first visit to your blog and I liked a lot how you are describing the orthodontic experience.
I am wearing braces too but I don't have a major problem nor a minor one, in fact I have a beautiful smile (that's what everyone says) but an inverted occlusion on my canines and when you are the dentist, that's the first time you notice on ur bathroom mirror in the morning.

I can see the progress between the two pics and I can predict from the humble experience that I got till now, that you're going to have one perfect awesome smile.

Keep your motivation at this high level and I only have one recommandation for you...A perfect hygiene, first to preserve your teeth cause they're highly exposed to decays with the braces and second because you have ceramics braces wich could turn to yellow ones if not cleaned enough and surely this implies less coffee and smiking (if you smoke).

I really enjoyed reading all your orthondontic posts and I will be visiting again :D

Good luck!

Hello Krys :)
Welcome to my blog and thank you for your sweet comment.

In fact, I noticed the discoloration recently on the ceramics. Last week I had a cleaning and that was taken care of. What I didn't notice though was that the colour of my teeth was also at a darker shade. Having off-white teeth due to the Tetracycline intake when I was a baby, I didn't notice that they were darker than normal until after the cleaning. It turned out that the 2 to 4 cups of green tea that I drink daily aren't as good to the teeth as they are to the rest of the body :(

The good news is that this year, I'll be able to have a cleaning every 3 months and will keep the teeth and the ceramics clean and as white as white can be :)

At home, the cleaning and hygiene are under control, and I reduced the tea intake.

Krys, your input is much appreciated, 3an jadd. Merci.

Hey, I noticed that you're a fellow Gemini. That explains your "own special" and "unusual" About Me :)

Indeed, though all the benefits of green tea, it is taning, you could reduce your consomation to 1 cup a day, cause it is also good for teeth for its fluor releasing which is essential for preserving teeth from decays.

As for tetracycline discolorations, unfortenately you can do nothing about it even a whitening won't solve the problem but that's not a big deal since you have a good hygiene and a mouth in good shape :)

That's really rare to see someone as motivated as you :D keep up the good work and waiting for updates!

Btw, being a gemini has its "own special" aura...ma heyk? ;)
Whenever I like someone or smg
it turns out it has smg to do with Gemini...and your blog is one additionnal proof :D

Thanks again for your input Krys. I learned something new about green tea today :) I'm down to one/day but I can't get off it completely and won't since it's good for me.

Once the teeth are all lined up in place, the discoloration won't be bothering me too much anymore. I was thinking of veneer once the Ortho journey is over, bass might just live with it as I did thus far. Aslan I don't like anything fake in me, so it'll be my "own special" smile ;)

I'm glad you like my blog and I surely am glad that you're visiting. You and Dareen have given me encouragement and I thank you both for that :-D
